Doctor attended 9/13 - 9/17 1918.BIRTH: On his death certificate his age is stated as 56 years old, but this does not agree with the birth information; I have left the birth data as is, that is, 9 Mar 1857.
Blood clots resultant to an automobile accident
James A. Cain served in the CSA Army as a Private in Company 6, 55th Regiment of the Alabama Regiment. He enlisted June 18, 1861 in Atlanta GA.
He was captured near Atlanta on July 20, 1864 with a severe arm wound ( non fatal ). He was transferred to the Military Prison, Louisville KY and forwarded to Camp Chase, Ohio September 10, 1864, where he died June 4, 1865 from Typhoid.
There is also record of his enlistment as a Private in Company 7, 20th Regiment of the Georgia Infantry June 18, 1861. And his name appears on a "Register of refugees and rebel deserters, Provost Marshal General, Wash DC, March 7 1865, so there is confusion as to his actual unit of assignment.

BURIAL: Grave #2024, 1/3 mile south of Camp Chase OH.
Served in the Confederate Army as a Private in Company H, Morgan's Battalion, Arkansas Infantry - June 13, 1862 - February 1864. Was "absent" for the period March/April 1863 with remarks "Went home sick since Jan 9 1863. Reporting inability is required by same."
NOTE: Morgan's regiment was designated at various times as Morgan's Battallion Arkansas Infantry, 3d Regiment Trans-Mississippi Infantry, 3d Regiment Arkansas Infantry, Morgan's Regiment Arkansas Infantry, and 26 Regiment Arkansas Infantry.
