Congratulations to Vince Mills and Lindsay Reeder who just said their “I Do’s” 22 Nov 03 (which was the 25th wedding anniversary of Vince’s Aunt Risa and Uncle Rene Johnston). Vince is the 24-year-old son of Rene and Mike Mills and great-great-grandson of Mary Lou Belle and James Alan Cain. Vince and Lindsay had a beautiful wedding in the First Baptist Church, Haynesville LA. Vince’s brother Alex was the best man and Justin Johnston, Amy and Clint Giddens were also in the wedding party. The couple will reside in Ruston LA while 20-year-old Lindsay finishes her degree in history. A Caribbean cruise was their honeymoon.

Hats off to Megan Dupree Harbison who passed her CPA examination last Fall. Megan is the daughter of Nathan and Jeanette Dupree, great-great-granddaughter of Mary Lou Belle and James Alan Cain.

We hear than Jon and Sylvia Barker recently went on a cruise so they must be enjoying retirement quite well. Perhaps they will provide some details and photos in the future.

On a more somber note, our expression of sympathy goes to the family of Mary Cain Lum of Strong, Arkansas, who died 5 Oct 03. She was the daughter of Willie Cain and David Leona Heimeyer Cain, and granddaughter of Mary Lou Belle and James Alan Cain. (Editor’s note: We had previously incorrectly spelled Heimeyer as Himar—that has now been corrected in the family tree. In addition, the obituary contained some interesting information about Mary that was also added to the family tree notes which can be read on the family website.)

Joyce Barker McCaulay recently suffered a heart attack and spent some time in the hospital, but has now returned home. We wish Joyce a speedy and full recovery!

Billy Belcher has also been “enjoying poor health” as Olon Manning always enjoyed saying. He has been troubled with a bad back but is currently doing better with the assistance of pain management therapy.

Margaret Ruth Dupree Fowler recently indicated that Charles is also on the mend, with his counts making nice progress after the bone marrow procedure.

Please keep Joyce, Billy, and Charles, plus Henry and Karen Hirasaki in your prayers.
