The Extended Family Newsletter

Vol 4 Issue 1

Jan - Mar 2004

Publisher’s Desk

Happy New Year everyone!

It seems appropriate to discuss the newsletter way-ahead as we commence a new year of publishing.

First I’d like to say “Thanks” for the continuing support for contributions—everyone that writes! Noteworthy are Melba Dupree and Margaret Ward with their positive attitude—that they must write, to help younger generations have a better understanding of the family and the times in which they lived.

You probably recall that the last issue concluded features on Mary Lou Belle and Alan’s children. We now intend to feature families, in fact three families each issue, not just couples and older and younger generations as we have in past issues. That concept commences with this edition assuming writers can support the effort. Incidentally the Braden family article in this issue is a good model for future efforts if there is any question about our direction.

The next issue we will feature the Williamson family—Jackie, Red, Clifton, Wanda, Wanda Lee, Jacque Ruth, and David. Also, the Patterson family—Janice, Dennis, Theresa and Tommy, and the Mark Cain family— Mark, Michelle, Zach and Brittney. So grab your number 2 pencils or start banging that keyboard to get a jump on the deadlines: 15 Feb for printed copy and 1 Mar for electronic media.

A number of you have not yet sent in your subscription for 2004. If you don’t renew prior to the Mar 04 edition, this will be your last printed copy. Please remember the newsletters are also available on the web site!

I hope everyone enjoys the newsletter this year—peace and prosperity to the whole family in 2004!
