Nathan Dupree provided this
update: As of 15 Aug 02, we have accepted the position of pastor of the
United Pentecostal Church of Norphlet, AR. Norphlet is near El Dorado where
we pastored ten years. Although we have mixed emotions in making this
transition, we are very excited in returning to fulltime ministry. Our first
service as pastor will be this coming Sunday morning, but we do not expect
to be moved for another four to five weeks. We wanted you to be among the
first to know of our plans. Thanks for your love and prayers. Nathan &
JeanetteBy the time you receive this issue, Jon Barker will have retired
from Lockheed-Martin after approximately 36-years of service. Jon and Sylvia
are relocating from Denver to the San Antonio area to be near their
daughters. No word on what their retirement plans are; not too long ago they
purchased a nice 5th-wheel RV so it’s safe to assume they plan to travel.
Congratulations and enjoy retirement!
Samantha and Marandia Owens spent part of their summer vacation with
their grandfather, Donald Hilburn, at Lake D’Arbonne. Fun activities
included riding jet skis, Samantha’s china painting lessons (from her Aunt
Janice), going to the theater, including the IMAX in Shreveport, eating out,
and spending some time with their great-grandmother Jessie and aunt Linda.
In June 02, Theresa and Thomas Peoples relocated to Lexington Park, MD
(60 miles southeast of Wash DC), as Tom was recently promoted into a new
position with the Federal Bureau of Prisons. Lex Park is near the USN Air
Station Test Facility—PAX River. They have purchased a new home and had just
gotten it comfy when Theresa came to Lake D’Arbonne for an extended vacation
with her parents, Janice & Dennis Patterson, and with Jessie and Linda. She
extended an invitation for visitors, and has written a bit more about the
area to be published in the next issue. Congrats!
