Publisher's
Desk
In the last issue we announced that this edition will be the last unless
someone volunteered to continue publication. I'm so thankful that Becky
Hirasaki and her daughter, Amy Moore, have volunteered. It has been very
enjoyable to me, personally, to have published this newsletter, and I
certainly have learned a lot more about our family. Although I knew a lot of
our family history, I have a much clearer picture of how it all fits
together. I would like to thank every one who has contributed in any way,
and special thanks to all who have made major contributions because without
all of you, it would not have been possible. I thank Donald, my brother, for
his tremendous job of editing as well as Becky and Henry Hirasaki for their
great job of printing and mailing the newsletters. I'm sure Becky and Amy
would love to have your help in continuing to publish the newsletter.
Note: If your subscription extends beyond
calendar year 2004, I will forward your payment on to Becky or Amy, so that
your subscription should not be interrupted.
L ast edition we managed to omit
some photos of the Jon Barker family, although we did get them into the web
version. In any case, here they are for the folks only receiving printed
copy. The first photo is a family portrait, followed by a photo made at
Kristy’s shower, with her mother and sister Beverly flanking her. Next Jon
and Sylvia in their fishing boat, and on a cruise ship on one of their
cruises to Alaska.
