family to visit Thanksgiving. We had a really nice visit Thanksgiving day
with Donny , Janice and Dennis over to join us. Janice had to have hip
surgery the next day, but is doing real well from the surgery. Although
there were cancer cells in the hip bone, her oncologist is unable to tell if
the cancer is healing stage or advancing. He gave her the option to begin
chemo again or wait a couple of months to do a bone scan. She chose the
latter. Thank you for your continued prayer. For those that knew our Uncle
Glenn Utz and Aunt Mildred Hilburn, we lost Uncle Glenn on Father’s Day,
2000 and Aunt Mildred on August 9, 2001.
J oyce Barker McCaulay makes beautiful western shirts. She sells
them at rodeos and to a lady who has a business. If you happen to watch the
Rose Parade on New Years Day, 2002, look for a woman wearing a very fancy
western shirt with gloves to match as that is one of Joyce’s shirts. |

It has been
said that on September 11, 2001, America got a 911 wake up call from God
(September being the 9th month and 11 being the day). Psalms 9:17
says it like this, “The wicked shall be turned into hell, and all the
nations that forget God”. The solution, “If my people, which are called by
my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from
their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will heal their land”
II Chronicles 7:14.
P rayer is requested for our President and the leaders of our
nation that they would make the right decisions at this time of great
distress; for our troops and coalition troops; for those who have lost their
loved ones and for the people of our nation as a whole to repent and obey
the Lord. Offer thanks to the Lord for His great mercy which He has shown to
us in allowing us a chance to repent and turn from our wicked ways as a
nation. Last, but not least, prayer for our enemies (Love your enemies, do
good to them which hate you, bless them that curse you, and pray for them
which despitefully use you.” Luke 6:27,28. |

Miracles and Divine Interventions |
The following article, titled “So I Found
Out,” was published in the Mobil Refinery company newspaper where Elmer Ward
worked for many years. It describes an incident that occurred at Olon and
Ruth Myrtle Cain Manning’s residence near Morgan City LA during a visit by
Rosie May Rebecca Cain Ward and her family. It was bedtime on the
Atchafalaya River. With my husband, I was visiting my sister and her husband
on a two-room houseboat they had staked out there. We almost never came
home.
The cool, moist air started it all. I have arthritis, and-since cool,
moist air makes it worse- I closed all the boat's windows. before going to
bed. How long I slept, I don't know. But I awoke, sick and vomiting, in the
middle of the night. This certainly wasn't arthritis.
I called for my husband. He came in, realized something was wrong and
rushed for the door. He passed out before reaching it. A few moments later
he regained consciousness, managed to crawl to a window and raise it.
Somehow - though deathly -sick and nauseated - I fumbled. my way to the door
and threw it open. Fresh air poured in..
My sister was unconscious for three hours. All four of us had been
overcome by fumes from a gas refrigerator on board.
I learned a lesson that night about sleeping anywhere without plenty of
ventilation. I found out there are some things worse than cool, moist air.
